I saw Madlyn Rhue on a Mannix yesterday. She logged well over 100 television appearances in a nearly 40 year career begining in 1958. Then in 1977 she received a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. She continued to work for another nearly twenty years! Her final appearance was on a 1996 Murder, She Wrote. She then went to the Motion Picture Country Home where she lived till her 2003 passing. This is not a sad story, she was a woman who never wanted pity and continued to live and work on her own terms, the last several years acting from a wheelchair. Rhue was a constant and welcome face throughout my childhood on TV and I thought she deserved recognition. #hollywoodhistory #televisionhistory #madlynrhue #multiplesclerosis #courage

This is amazing! There's a slew of negatives on ebay right now that are just cryptically labeled as Ken Berry and Jackie Joseph. They are in a store with other people. Well from the first shot you can see that it's Ken Berry and his wife, actress Jackie Joseph. The next person is actor/voice actor, Howard Morris. After him is character actress Jane Dulo. And finally, both from this Dick Van Dyke Show are Ann Morgan Guilbert and Richard Deacon. In the second picture we have Ken and Richard at the front door of the shop and that's where I hit paydirt...sort of. You can see the sign with the boutique's name, "It's The Berry's" and the address of 11338. After some sleuthing, I found out that Ken and Jackie had this little gift and curio boutique from roughly, 1964 - 1966 and these are some publicity shots that were made of their famous friends coming in to browse. How cool is that. The unresolved part is the location (and I'm crazy for locations) I tried using both google street view to see if I could find similar looking buildings from the exterior shot and also the archive that LA Pub Library has of old phone books. I looked under both Santa Monica Blvd. and Olympic Blvd. using that address (this would be a logical West LA shop) I drew a blank. Then I moved over the hill to the valley and tried that street number on both Ventura Blvd and Magnolia Blvd. and....bupkis. So all that's left is to reach out to youse guys. Any body remember this little shop in the mid sixties? Anybody visit and buy from there? It's an awfully cool discovery of yet more celebrities who just wanted to play store! #hollywoodhistory #televisionhistory #kenberry #ftroop #mayberryrfd #jackiejoseph #annmorganguilbert #richarddeacon #janedulo #starswithstores
